There, Dan was being confronted by his friend, Mark. "You think you can get away with it, Dan?" Mark's voice was filled with anger. "You know what you did was unforgivable!"

Dan's face turned pale as he tried to defend himself. "I didn't mean it, Mark. I was desperate!"

Mark's expression softened, but Alex could see the hurt in Dan's eyes. This was the betrayal Sam had spoken of. But something was off. Dan didn't seem to recognize Alex.

"Dan, I need to talk to you," Alex said, stepping forward. Dan turned, his face contorting in confusion. "Who are you?"
